All about the prep!
Size the tip to your natural nail, make sure this fits properly, as you don't want it to be too wide or too small. Once you have sized your tips to your natural nail and you know they are going to fit properly, apply a small amount of glue in the well area of the tip. Apply the tip to the natural nail ensuring the wellness area of the tip is stuck properly onto the free edge of the natural nail. Once applying the tip to the natural nail ensure there are no bubbles in the wellness area of the tip. Hold down for 1o seconds ensuring the tip is nicely stuck to the natural nail. Wipe any glue residue away using a cotton pad or a lint free pad.
Using your tip cutters, cut to the length which your client would like their nail. Then using a 15o grit file or a 100 grit file, file the tip to the desired shape. Gently file nails, gently file over the natural nail and the tip, blending the tip onto the natural nail. This step doesn't need to be filed too much as it can cause damage to the client's natural nails. The example in the video is a square shape nail. Remember always gently file as you don't want to burn your client's natural nails or make them bleed or make the natural nail sore. As you can see I am lightly filing and blending the tip onto the natural nail, again if you do this too rough or fast you are at risk of burning the client and making the client bleed.
