Shaping and finishing

Using a 150 grit nail file shape the nail to the clients desired shape. This is an example of a square shaped nail with the corners rounded. For a square shaped nail, file the side walls of the nail, making sure you do not cut your client. For square shape, file the edge of the nail in a straight line and then gently file over the top of the nail to ensure the acrylic nail is all smooth and to a nice finish. Do not file too hard on the nail as you do not want to burn your clients. Keep doing this until it is smooth and your are happy with the overall look and shape. Be careful not to cut the clients cuticles as if you catch them it will cause the client to bleed.
